Armada Hotel Istanbul is located in the heart of Istanbul's historic peninsula, an area whose identity over the centuries absorbed the character of its rulers and population as Byzantium, New Rome, Constantinople, Konstantinopolis, Âsitâne, Dersaadet and Istanbul, with views of two of the great masterpieces of world architecture, the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Armada Hotel offers a unique experience to its guests. Situated at the heart of the Old City, it is within walking distance of many of the major attractions: the Archaeology Museum, the Topkapi Palace, the Church of St. Irene, Sultanahmet Square, the Cisterns, the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art, the Grand Bazaar and the Spice Bazaar.
The rooms are a graceful blend of past and present, designed in the Ottoman style with the traditional decoratively-painted wood paneling known as Edirnekari, yet offering all the modern amenities: central heating and air conditioning, direct-dial telephone service, mini-bar, cable television, hairdryers, free wireless internet connection and private safe-deposit boxes. Goose-down pillows and comforters ensure a comfortable sleep. There are 110 rooms, 16 of which are interconnected and two of which are fully equipped for wheelchair access.
